Pods Like Us meets G Slade’s Indie Music Showcase
Oh crikey, I’m trying to remember at the end of January 2021 about a show that was recorded at the end of November 2020.
George is a fellow participant of the songwriting challenges FAWM and 50/90, so I reached out to him asking he’d like to take part.
Initially I was hoping up to stockpile around ten episodes for season two during the end of November and first two weeks of December, and then record another five in January, which would then give more all fifteen non-group chat episodes for season two before the season was even due for release!
That’s not how it’s turned out, because my computer wouldn’t work properly, and suddenly started crashing during Zoom calls, which is tricky in these times where you can’t meet people in person.
So, a few weeks into January I bought a new laptop, and I’ve got back to recording, but I’m nervous as I don’t have many episodes recorded as yet (6 including this episode, instead of the 15 I wanted at this point).
So, I started a chat on Zoom on the week of my birthday, when my birthday was actually the same as Thanksgiving in America as well.
We talked for nearly three hours all told, and editing it was fun, but exhausting to get it below two hours.
There’s a lot in this episode, and I had a lot of fun talking to someone about music, especially as I can’t go and talk to anyone in person about music.
Hopefully it will be interesting to people, and I also purposely lined it up as episode one, as it will be February the 1st, which is the first day of the songwriting challenge FAWM (February Album Writing Month).
